This article examines the concept of Tolyq Adam as a cultural and philosophical model of holistic personality development and its educational implementation in the TOLYQ ADAM program at Almaty Management University. The relevance of the study is determined by the need to conceptualize ways of actualizing the Kazakh humanistic tradition, Abai’s philosophy, and the idea of responsibility within the educational environment of the contemporary university. In the context of higher education transformation and growing interest in whole-person education, the concept of Tolyq Adam provides a framework for understanding personal development through values, inner culture, moral choice, and responsible action alongside professional and transversal competencies. The article aims to reveal the cultural and semantic foundations of Tolyq Adam, examine its relationship with the Kazakh educational tradition and Abai’s triad aqyl–zhurek–qairat (reason–heart–will), and analyze the TOLYQ ADAM program as a contemporary educational model. The methodology of the study includes historical-cultural, hermeneutic, axiological, and comparative analysis, as well as an analysis of the institutional and program documents of TOLYQ ADAM. The novelty of the study lies in interpreting TOLYQ ADAM as an institutional mechanism of cultural continuity that translates Abai’s philosophical anthropology into university practice. The findings demonstrate that the program conceptualizes transversal competencies as interconnected dimensions of intellectual, moral, and action-oriented personality development rather than as a fragmented set of soft skills.
